My name is Dr. Luis Garza, I am a 50 year old Dentist, I am married, have 3 kids and weigh 181 Pounds. Last year I made one of the most important decision of my life, to undergo weight loss surgery, after having health problems due to my overweight. At my highest weight the scale reported 273 pounds. After visiting various doctors and doing extensive research, I decided to undergo Gastric Bypass Surgery at the Obesity Surgery Center of Monterrey. I chose Dr. Rumbaut because he had the most experience and surgical skill. He made made me felt at ease right away and helped me choose the right bariatric procedure for my individual needs, that in my case was de Gastric Bypass. After Surgery my recuperation was a fast one. The first month I lost a lot of weight and didn’t stop loosing until I reached my goal weight. Now I am able to tie my shoes easily, and be comfortable in movie theaters and in airplane seats.

Since my surgery I have gone in numerous vacations with my family and enjoy swimming, long walks at the beach and being able to enjoy all the rides at Disney. I also enjoy the fact that I can buy clothing anywhere and not just at plus size stores and that I can buy fashionable clothing.

Now my back is feeling great, my blood sugar and cholesterol are controlled and have more flexibility and mobility. I sleep better, don't snore (my wife is thankful) and have much more energy! Both my daughters are overweight. I am the first one that wants them to have surgery. My older daughter is having surgery this year and the younger one hopefully next year. There is no doubt that this surgery changed my life. And it is not about being happy or unhappy being overweight, it is about being comfortable with your body and being healthier, that is very difficult to achieve when you are carrying all that extra weight.
