It is a pleasure and honor to be able to tell you about Dr. Rumbaut and how he and the LapBand gave me back an active, healthy and happy life after being obese and then morbidly obese for about 9 years.

In Jr High and High School I was a little pudgy but nothing too bad, I really started seeing the weight come on about a year out of high school. Unfortunately, obesity is a problem my family and extended family have been facing for a long time. I wasn¹t careful enough to notice and before I knew it I was a 335 pound unhappy girl, depressed and on the way to a lifetime of health problems. My father approached me with the idea of weight loss surgery and I was offended and scared to even think about that. But he did plant a seed and about 4 months later my little brother called me and voiced his true concern about my health and weight. I was ready to hear it at that time and started the path of LapBand discovery. I wanted to know all my options out there and stumbled upon Dr. Rumbaut on the internet and all his accomplishments in the WLS field and this procedure called LapBand. After a few e-mails, conversations on the phone and some excellent referrals from people in my state that went to Dr. Rumbaut I knew I found my new beginning I was banded in Mexico Sept, 1999.

The journey has been amazing and has had its ups and downs like life. There was great weight loss and then a couple years of a little bit of gain and then again loss and continued loss. Over 5 1/2 years and 148 lbs thinner and still loosing I couldn't be happier with what the band has done for me. It¹s a part of me and I have learned to work with it and my body to give me the healthiest and best results.

I can't say enough personally about Dr. Rumbaut and his team and how sincere he is in making you feel comfortable about your decision. Probably because he has a band himself! I remember laying in the bed right before surgery and I started crying because of nerves and excitement all at the same time and Dr. Rumbaut came over to me and grabbed my hand and said you¹ll be ok, I promise I¹ll take good care of you. That was it for me; I knew I was in the best hands possible. About 24 hours later I was up and out of the hospital with a little soreness but already knew I would thinner tomorrow than I was today!

Thank you Dr. Rumbaut and your team with helping me achieve this part of my life I was always suppose to have. I will be forever grateful.
